What is your role at Metalis?
I am the Accounts & Payroll Assistant at Metalis and my responsibilities involve processing the weekly payroll, invoices administration and being the point of contact for any accounts queries.
What did you do before you worked at Metalis?
My most recent position was Project Office Lead working for a Construction business in Sheffield. I did that for six years and found it very interesting and varied. I was highly involved with the implementation of new systems and portals, and I had to ensure a smooth transition of the systems on our sites. There was a great aspect of office management, assisting with training requirements and drawings administration also.
Before this, I worked as a Payroll Assistant and Office Manager for several years at a Recruitment business in Leeds. The role was very busy, administering and processing weekly payroll, credit control duties, general office management and the administration function also.
What do you enjoy the most about your job?
I enjoy the fast-paced nature of my job where I can utilise my multitasking skills and my attention to detail. Our office environment is also very lively, and it makes our working day more fun.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I enjoy spending time with my 4-year-old cheeky boy. We are fond of outdoors and we like to explore different places. I’m interested in psychology, a healthy lifestyle, and nutrition. I also volunteer for a charity who match volunteer befrienders with isolated older neighbours in the community to reduce loneliness for those over 65 years of age.
