Job Role: CAD Engineer (Solidworks)

Location: Sutton-in-Ashfield

Salary: £30,000



Metalis are currently working with a leading fabrication business who supplies into a range of public and private accounts. This company is on a huge growth journey and has investment plans for the offices and fabrication facilities. They are looking for ambitious Design Engineer to join their team.



We have worked with this company on a number of roles and candidates have been put through additional training courses and had promotions within the year. This is a supportive business looking to build on strong foundations of success.



Job Duties

• Utilise SolidWorks software to create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and drawings for fabricated products.
• Collaborate with sales and the client to develop concept designs and translate them into precise CAD models and technical drawings.
• Provide technical support and expertise to colleagues and team members on CAD-related matters.
• Adhere to industry standards, regulations, and company guidelines throughout the design process.
• Evaluate and improve manufacturing processes.
• Produce fabrication/manufacturing drawings.
• Design and implement automated and manual systems.
• Attend relevant trade shows promoting the companies product range and services.

Job Requirements

• Experience working within a fabrication environment.
• Proficiency in either SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD.
• A HNC or HND in a relevant engineering field.
