Metalis are working with a reputable and long established company who manufacture Aerospace parts for a range of suppliers.
They are looking for a Chief Inspector to join their team.
The role of the Chief Inspector is to supervise the Inspection Department and provide Quality Control, and inspection and manually inspect products equipment in order to validate the conformity of manufactured and received parts. Ina addition, can operate the company's CNC CMM machines.
Responsibilities:
- Inspection with alternative means may be required when features cannot be checked on the CMM
- Checking for first off and completion of First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) details
- Conduction route cause investigations and handling customer non-conferences
- To programme, operate and run programs on the CMM in order to verify dimensional accuracy of components, dies, component parts, according to CAD data and tool/part print specifications
- Complete daily priority lists to locate all the information needed such as Technical drawings, Customer specifications, Internal specifications, Job cards and Customer tolerances
- Support the equipment calibration processes and recommendations including frequency of testing, identification, quarantine, collection and certification
Ideal Candidate:
- Apprentice trained in an engineering discipline
- Previous work history of a similar role within aerospace (desired)
- Initiating FAIRs
- Experience supervising staff
Package:
- Salary of £28,000 - £30,000 dependant on experience
