Technical Estimator
Location: Rotherham (S60)
Shift: 9.00am - 5.00pm
Tenure: Fulltime, Permanent
Salary: £28,000 - £32,000
Our client is a multi-million-pound engineering business, who offer their mechanical and electrical services Nationally.
The company supports and performs service work for a number of interesting clients, this includes but is not limited to; South Yorkshire Police, NHS Hospitals, Academy Schools, Sheffield Council and Much More.
Role Brief
An exciting Technical Estimator/ Purchaser vacancy has become available that involves pricing and quoting for different types of electrical and mechanical works.
You will be liaising with a wide variety of suppliers and sourcing engineering components.
This role would suit someone with engineering knowledge that is experienced within an office team.
Duties
- Generate & Issue Quotes to customers
- Sourcing & ordering of parts and components
- Assist Repair Supervisor in arranging Subcontract labour
- Assist Repair Supervisor in arranging Repair Team
- Booking in Minor Works
- Focus on the larger Refurb quotes
- Target of £120k orders per month
- Target minor works 45% GP
- Review Engineers Recommendations & prioritise quotes
- Constant focus on Monthly Work Completed, Quoted and Order values
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years' experience engineering industry with experience in a supervisory position desirable.
- Good level of electrical and mechanical knowledge.
- Commercial knowledge and Service Sales awareness.
- Ability to supervise other estimators and assume responsibility.
- Have ability to calculate prices using spreadsheets or custom software.
- Have ability to communicate with all levels of management/customer both in writing and orally.
- Should be I.T. competent and familiar with all standard Microsoft packages with ability to use bespoke software.
- Have a good telephone manner.
- Be self-motivated and able to meet targets set but also a team player/leader.
