Maintenance Supervisor

Our client is a globally recognised expert in gas and energy technologies, a hugely growing company in a fast- paced, exciting sector. Working from a brand new manufacturing and production facility

The business is entering a significant period of transition, undertaking a period of rapid growth and transformation.Working with top engineers in the area, from various backgrounds to achieve the maintenance teams goals of minimal breakdowns and repairs to their production processes


What are we looking for


We currently have an opportunity for a Maintenance Supervisor/Team Leader where you will support the Maintenance Managers in daily activities relating to Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and prioritising pro- active and reactive maintenance tasks on a daily basis.
Providing leadership to a multi skilled Maintenance team including delegation of work and monitoring individuals, asset's and team performance.

Responsibilities

To operate in line with all policies and Procedures and create proposals for improvements with a particular focus on safety and legislation requirements

  • Lead the team on day to day maintenance activities maximising machine availability and productivity
  • Manage work load and Identify capacity constraints and make proposals for improvements across site
  • To lead and contribute to continuous improvement and cap ex projects
  • Monitor maintenance data and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Provide hands on support to your team and other team members when required
  • To ensure the smooth running of the department and ensure adequate cover is provided to the facility
  • Coach, mentor and develop your team by identifying any training requirements and development opportunities for your team
  • Manage and review maintenance and competency documents for existing and new machinery
  • Allocate duties either directly or indirectly to your team and ensure all resource it effectively utilised
  • To champion 5s in your area and others and support and promote all aspects of continuous improvement within
  • Ensure spares are always available and within Min-Max levels and make proposals on the stock holding
  • To cover essential duties in the absence of the Maintenance Manager
  • To be a point of contact for the team in all matters relating to Safety, Quality and Delivery and People
  • To be responsible for all HR matters within your team and escalate any concerns and opportunities you may have



About You
Knowledge and Experience

  • Academic Qualifications (City and Guilds/BTEC or equivalent)
  • IOSH Managing Safely desirable
  • Time served multi skilled engineer/maintenance engineer with a strong technical knowledge in manufacturing
  • Knowledge of modern maintenance techniques, Lean manufacturing and other CI techniques
  • Experience of supervising or leading a team
  • Awareness of the S,Q,D,C,P (or equivalent) model of communication
  • Must be able to positively influence and build good working relationships with people at all levels of the organisation
  • Automation knowledge and expeirence
  • Must be able to demonstrate a flexible and adaptable work ethic
  • Experience with Maintenance Planning Software would be advantageous



Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to highlight potential failures before they occur.
  • A good level of IT competence in Microsoft packages, Factory Master, Maintenance Software packages such as Workmate and any other IT systems as they are identified.
  • Excellent time management skills and a willingness to remain flexible
  • Ability to communicate at all levels and ensure information is understood and embedded within your area
