Two positions at two different companies are available, one company is in Doncaster the other is in Sheffield.

Reporting to the Machine Shop Manager and working within a small team, you will undertake various machine shop duties including but not limited to centre lathe turning, milling and slotting. Able to interpret engineering drawings as well as the ability to manufacture from samples given by the customer.

Main Responsibilities

  • Responsible for day to day general machining work and refurbishment to customer's specifications.

  • Repair and refurbishment of feed screws, bowls, scrolls and other bespoke machining.

  • Ability to prioritise work flow to meet customer's expectations/deadlines.

  • Work to safe working practices and procedures already in place.

  • Apprentice trained and experienced in centre lathe turning and machining.

  • Ability and willingness to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers.

Required Experience

  • Apprentice trained/qualified machinist.

  • Relevant experience of using centre lathe and other machining processes.

  • Able to work to tight finish tolerances on various types of steel.

  • Able to screw cut, thread, use of centre and turret lathes and vertical borers if needed.
