Working for a leading company in Huddersfield who are looking for several Mechanical fitters to join their team, the roles available are either Service engineer(20% travel to customers site) or Mechanical Fitter (no travel)
Both roles are fully permanent with very good earning potential.
Service Engineer
Days regular Starting salary £30 000 + huge uplifts of up to 75% of salary for hours worked not on site.On site in Huddersfield roughly 80% of the time with the potential of site based work either in the UK or abroad
Mechanical Fitter
Double days position- Starting salary of £38 000 with huge overtime opportunities paid at a premium rate. this is 100% based in the manufacturing facility in Huddersfield
All roles have the option to earn much more money than basic salary with extra hours and bonus should the successful person want it
The role:
Security Clearance (SC) to be gained
Heavy Industrial Gearbox experience prefered but not essential
Rotating equipment experience essential
Knowledge of Bearing applications- especially white metal prefered
Gantry & Jib crane experience prefered
Lifting and slinging of loads up to 80t experience prefered
Stripping, cleaning, rebuilding gearboxes
Diagnosing faults - problem solving
Testbed experience prefered but not essential
Working to technical drawings
Familiar with measuring equipment- Slipblocks, internal/ external micrometers etc...
Compiling reports on the quality of components on gearboxes essential, recording serial/ cast
numbers numbers keeping all documents in order.
Double Day, Night Shift & weekend working- a flexible attitude towards working hours
Maintaining a high quality of work within the department under pressure
Good house keeping is essential
To work as part of a team, good communication skills- compile shift hand over notes.
Willingness to learn and gain new skills
