Production Operative
Salary: Up to £26,000 per annum (dependant on experience)
Hours: Weekend nights - Friday 8pm-6am / Saturday & Sunday 6pm - 6am (34 hours per week)
Metalis are seeking a dedicated Setter to join our leading manufacturing client based in Kidderminster. As a Setter, you will play a crucial role in the production process, ensuring the quality, reliability, and efficiency of their manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will either have some experience in setting Die Casting Machines, or an individual who is keen on learning new skills and grow within the company.
Job Duties:
* Adhere to the Lockout/Tagout procedure during die setting and changeover activities.
* Ensure the safety harness is in good order before use.
* Inspect platforms, ladders, and anchor points for cleanliness and damage prior to operation.
* Ensure safe practices are followed when working at elevated heights.
* Make necessary preparations in the work area before commencing die setting or changeover.
* Enforce strict compliance with safety protocols among all team members in the department.
* Get the dies ready within the designated green zone, as indicated on the setup and verification sheets.
* Arrange and inspect all lifting equipment intended for use, ensuring cleanliness, proper ID inspection tags, and visible safe working load information.
* Confirm the presence of all required electrical, hydraulic, water, and vacuum ancillaries with the designated tooling set for changeover.
* Verify the availability and safety condition of all hand tools before starting the task.
* Dispose of used cleaning equipment and soiled rags/brushes in the designated disposal containers.
* Place the removed tool in the red area, positioned for safe transport to the tool room.
* Collaborate with the SMED team to enhance changeover efficiency and contribute to reducing setup times.

* Need to be attentive to detail and follow procedures set out.
* Current crane license (Training will be provided)
* Current FLT license (Training will be provided)
* Working at height (Training will be provided)
* Working in confined spaces (Training will be provided)
* Flexible in terms of roles, responsibilities and hours of work
