Metalis are working with a reputable and well established company based in Sheffield who are well-known in the metals recycling industry.
They are looking for a permanent Project Engineer to join their team to manage existing and future projects to improve the site and their processes.
Duties:
- Scope out and specify on-site construction and modification projects
- Assist with specification and design for new processes
- Maintain relationships with existing contractors and identify new ones where required
- Manage quotations from suppliers and select best options based on cost, timescales, and quality of proposals
- Manage contractors to ensure work is completed on time and budget
- Assist with commissioning of projects after construction and manage handover from construction to operation
- Work with in-house maintenance team to ensure preventative maintenance schedules are kept to
- Assist maintenance team on plant breakdowns with repairs and fault-finding
Experience:
- Engineering project management experience - 3+ years
- Experience in industrial processing, preferably with some experience in recycling or similar industry
- Knowledge of:
- Materials handling equipment
- Liquid storage and transfer
- Chemicals processing
- Practical experience of equipment maintenance and maintenance scheduling
- Practical experience of industrial electrical installation and maintenance
- EITHER practical engineering background (time served apprenticeship, etc) OR degree-educated in relevant engineering discipline (mechanical, electrical, chemical)
