Metalis are working with a well established and reputable company based in Sheffield, who specialise in Aerospace manufacturing. They are looking for a QUALITY ENGINEER (FULL-TIME, PERMANENT) to join their busy workshop. Boasting a modern and clean facility, our client is leading the way in machining parts such as bespoke rings, casings, gearboxs, aerofoils and aerostructure for the Aerospace sector. This is a fantastic opportunity.

Salary: Between £25,000 per annum and £30,000 per annum dependant on experience

Hours: Regular days, Monday to Friday


Role Summary:
Monitoring and auditing the quality of all manufactured goods. Identify defects and find the root cause of the defect. Develop solutions to mitigate any reoccurrence.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Business Management System (BMS) of the company through: Internal/External Auditing

  • Audit reports and non-conformance report

  • Root cause analysis, Preventive and Corrective actions using problem solving methodologies
  • Monitor and drive close out of Non-conforming Reports (NCR's)

  • Ensure all customer specifications and documents relevant to the BMS are to the correct issue status

  • Follow process for the implementation of changes on the BMS (from Ballot creation to distribution and getting approval from relevant functions)

  • Monitor compliance of BMS to relevant standards and customer requirements

  • Monitor and drive BMS compliance with AS9100/ISO9100 and SABRe standards

  • Report on all Key Performance Indicators (KPI's)

  • Report quality statistics Weekly/Monthly and project performance

  • Interpretate Manufacturing Drawings and Specifications to International standards

  • Support the FAIRs, FPD and concessions process from creation to closure whilst engaging with customers throughout

  • Conduct/Facilitate Risk Management through implementation and review of Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA)

  • Enforce the quality disciplines and awareness of customer requirements throughout the business

  • Generate and issue quality statistics, quality KPIs, and communicate the findings across the teams

  • Ensure equipment within the business is calibrated, maintained and operating to the business and industry standard

  • Promote effective communication between your functional area and other functional areas of the business

  • Identify and advise your line manager of personal training requirements to ensure and enhance achievement of job role

  • Portray a positive and prestigious company image at all times and act in a business like and professional manner

  • Adhere to company Health & Safety policy and procedures at all times

  • Perform any other duties, which may reasonably be associated with the job in order to meet the needs of the company
