Job Role: Senior Technical Sales Manager

Location: Nottingham

Salary: £45,000 Plus Company Car



Metalis are supporting an international engineering business in the search for a Senior Technical Sales Manager. The purpose of the role will be to find new business opportunities, develop the sales team and develop long term growth plans.

You will be joining a high performing sales team and managing multiple business units within the wider company. This role will cover all UK accounts but may have the potential to expand into international businesses.



Candidates must live within a commutable distance to Nottingham and not require any sponsorship/Visa support.



Job Duties

  • Producing and achieving quarterly and yearly sales forecasts and budgets.
  • Supporting, coaching and developing the sales team fostering a culture of continued learning and ambition.
  • Gain & maintain market knowledge delivering on going key knowledge training.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and ensure on going contact in a highly competitive market.
  • Determining and setting sales targets for the sales team, this will include individuals and distributors.
  • Allocating territories to sales staff and distributors.
  • Create tenders and quotes for new business.
  • Be involved in all aspects of the teams HR process including RTW's, Review Meetings, Coaching, KPI Tracking.
  • Use of analytical tools to spot opportunities to win new business and grow current accounts. Evaluating year on year performance.
  • Complete after sales review meetings to gather learnings and improvements for the business.
  • To sell, maintain and monitor progress of clients and deliver on agreed service levels and exceed customer expectations.



Job Requirements

  • 15+ Years working within Engineering.
  • Must how a Degree or equivalent qualification in manufacturing, workholding or engineering.
  • Must hold a valid UK licence.
  • Able to read and create technical drawings.
  • Previous experience leading & managing a sales team.
  • Must have demonstrated success in sales within their relevant field including winning of new business.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify customer needs and propose innovative solutions.
