Metalis are working with a well established engineering company based in Sheffield, who are rapidly growing within the sustainable energy industry. Due to expansion, they are looking to add to their team by recruiting for test engineers to join their new test bay.

About the role:


The role of the Test Engineer is to test, fault find and correct where possible all of the companies equipment. You would be expected to fault find and diagnose faults and you will be developed to learn the companies product range.


Responsibilities:

  • To follow all FAT procedures including software and programming elements
  • To record test results and failure accurately, identifying faults and correct as required. These faults are to be logged and recorded. All changes will need to be tracked and auditable
  • Feedback concerns and failures to the relevant teams
  • Create and review RAMS as required as well as other safety documentation
  • Fully operate the test bay and all associated electrical requirements - training will be provided
  • Follow all quality control plans with an excellent level of understanding throughout
  • Use and work with logic flow diagrams, P & ID and any other information required
  • To work flexible hours as required in line with the business needs
  • Communicate when required with key stakeholders as well as any other department required
  • Prioritise workloads dependent on project and business needs
  • To train others in line with your competency as required
  • To undertake any training and development to enable you to do your duties
  • Visit sites when required - not expected to be frequent
  • Building and good understanding of all test procedures and feedback any adjustments required with a particular focus on safety critical elements
  • Frequent outdoor working is required for this role
  • Adhere to health & safety policies and procedures at all times
  • Champion all things relating to Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery. This will include process improvements and the elimination of waste/inefficiencies

Ideal candidate:

  • HNC or NVQ in engineering or equivalent in experience/training
  • Basic electrical safety city and guilds
  • Compressed gas safety passport beneficial KNO
  • A strong Mechanical or Electrical background


Package:

  • Permanent position
  • 37.5 hour week, 3 shift rotation
  • Salary £26,000 basic +20% shift allowance (£31,200 inclusive of shift allowance)
