We are seeking a skilled and experienced TIG Welder to join our client based in Rugby. As a TIG Welder, you will be responsible for carrying out precision welding tasks, working with a variety of metals including stainless steel, aluminium, and mild steel. You will be involved in fabricating and assembling components, ensuring high-quality finishes and meeting exact specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform TIG welding on various metals such as stainless steel, aluminium, and mild steel.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding specifications.
  • Ensure weld quality meets the required standards and carry out visual inspections of completed work.
  • Set up and operate welding machines and associated equipment.
  • Maintain equipment in good working order, performing routine maintenance as required.
  • Collaborate with engineers, fabricators, and other team members to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Adhere to health and safety standards, ensuring a safe working environment at all times.
  • Report any issues or defects in materials or equipment to supervisors.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a TIG Welder, preferably within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Proficient in TIG welding techniques with a strong attention to detail.
  • Experience working with stainless steel, aluminium, and mild steel.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to welding and fabrication processes.

Desirable:

  • Certification in welding (C&G, NVQ, or equivalent).
  • Experience with MIG and/or arc welding.
  • Forklift licence or experience operating workshop machinery.
