We are seeking a skilled and experienced TIG Welder to join our client based in Rugby. As a TIG Welder, you will be responsible for carrying out precision welding tasks, working with a variety of metals including stainless steel, aluminium, and mild steel. You will be involved in fabricating and assembling components, ensuring high-quality finishes and meeting exact specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform TIG welding on various metals such as stainless steel, aluminium, and mild steel.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding specifications.
- Ensure weld quality meets the required standards and carry out visual inspections of completed work.
- Set up and operate welding machines and associated equipment.
- Maintain equipment in good working order, performing routine maintenance as required.
- Collaborate with engineers, fabricators, and other team members to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Adhere to health and safety standards, ensuring a safe working environment at all times.
- Report any issues or defects in materials or equipment to supervisors.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a TIG Welder, preferably within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Proficient in TIG welding techniques with a strong attention to detail.
- Experience working with stainless steel, aluminium, and mild steel.
- Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to welding and fabrication processes.
Desirable:
- Certification in welding (C&G, NVQ, or equivalent).
- Experience with MIG and/or arc welding.
- Forklift licence or experience operating workshop machinery.
Pay & Hours:
- Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:00 PM to 6:15 AM (night shift).
- Pay: £17.01 per hour with a 30% uplift, totalling £22.11 per hour.
- Breaks - 30 minute unpaid and 2 x 15 minutes paid.
- O/T rates 1.5 weekdays and Saturday and x 2 on Sundays.
- 39 hours a week.
