What is your role at Metalis?
I am a Senior Recruitment Consultant at Metalis. My area of focus is all roles pertaining to Machining, Production and Shop Floor, and I specialise in placing suitable candidates with their perfect roles.
What did you do before you worked at Metalis?
I started my journey in recruitment in 2019, after completing a degree in Psychology and doing some travelling. My first role was recruiting for Logistics, placing HGV drivers within work in and around Yorkshire, before moving into more of an Account Management role and managing a national contract, up and down the UK. Prior to this, I had previous roles working within Sales and Customer Service, which allowed me to transition into Recruitment and my current role with ease.
What do you enjoy the most about your job?
I like that no day is the same with my role, it always feels like a rollercoaster and that keeps the job interesting and challenging. I like the ‘chase’ that my role provides, and the greatest feeling comes from finding the perfect role for someone and having them be excited to go to work. It also doesn’t hurt that everyone at Metalis is great to work with, and we regularly have dogs visiting our office.
What do you like to do outside of work?
Outside of work, I enjoy drawing/painting designs on blank skateboards for people to decorate their homes with, going to gigs and festivals (of the rock/metal variety) and taking my Golden Retriever on walks with my partner.
