Reporting to the CNC Machining Team Leader and the Production Manager, working individually or as part of a small team, the CNC Machinist is responsible for setting and operating CNC milling and turning machines. The operator will comply with all relevant manufacturing and health and safety instructions.

Role Specification

· Operate single/multi axis CNC machines and produce parts to achieve the production schedule and product specifications.
· Write and prove CNC programmes and develop manufacturing processors for New Product Development (NPD) and/or engineering requirements.
· Comply with all Quality Management System (QMS) and Health and Safety requirements.
· Highlight any areas of non-conformance, accurately maintain all records and documentation, notify the appropriate person(s) when problems are encountered.
· Ensure that the work area is maintained to a high standard of housekeeping and all equipment is maintained to a good and safe working condition.
· Identify opportunities for improvement that lead to enhancements of product quality, improved manufacturing efficiencies and product cost reduction.
· Be flexible and willing to learn new skills, share expertise and train others.

Person Specification

· Fanuc operating system experience desired
· Multi axis/spindle experience beneficial
· Proven skills and competency necessary to successfully undertake the requirements of the position.
· Ideally hold a recognized engineering qualification
· Experience of using hand held measuring equipment
· Experience of operating Mitutoyo CMM beneficial
· Must be methodical, accurate and precise with a keen eye for detail.
· A good communicator and well organised.
· Able to develop job knowledge and expertise through continual personal development.
· A team player who works well with others.
· Shares expertise and knowledge with others.

Shifts and Salary

  • £29k/year / £14.87
  • 37.5 hour / week:-
  • 6:00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 6:00 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. Friday
    Or 7:00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 7:00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. Friday
