Metalis are currently assisting a highly established castings company in their search for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer.

The position involves working on permanent weekend night shift (34 hours a week) it offers a competitive take-home salary of just over £40,000 per annum.

Weekend nights - Friday night 8pm - 6am / Saturday 6pm - 6am / Sunday 6pm - 6am

Role Overview:

As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of heavy foundry and die casting equipment. Your expertise in electrical systems will be instrumental in ensuring optimal efficiency and minimal downtime.

Key responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving electrical issues, conducting routine inspections, performing preventive maintenance tasks, and collaborating with the maintenance team to optimise machine performance.

Responsibilities:
* Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance tasks on a wide range of electrical equipment.
* Troubleshoot electrical failures and promptly undertake repairs to minimize production downtime.
* Interrogating PLC's and working with sensors, switches and drives etc
* Collaborate with the maintenance team to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives for enhanced equipment reliability and performance.
* Working with site contractors and providing them with direction
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies during maintenance activities.
Requirements:
* Relevant electrical engineering qualifications (e.g., L3 Apprenticeship, HND, HNC, or equivalent).
* Proven experience as an Electrical Maintenance Engineer in a heavy industry or manufacturing environment.
* Proficiency in working with sensors, switches, drives, and interrogating PLCs.
* Strong ability to troubleshoot and rectify electrical faults.
* Desirable experience with ABB robots (not essential but preferred)
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to resolve maintenance issues.
