Maintenance Manager

Metalis are currently working with an FMCG company in Coventry, specialising in food processing and manufacturing. The company are a global leader, committed to maintaining high standards in quality, efficiency, and safety.

Job Role Summary:

As a Maintenance Manager, you will lead a Safety First Engineering team to ensure equipment reliability and compliance with health, safety, and food safety standards.
Your primary focus will be on implementing and maintaining a robust Preventive Maintenance system to increase Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and reduce downtime and waste.

Role Daily Requirements:

* Ensure all engineers and contractors follow site and corporate safety policies and wear appropriate PPE.
* Develop, implement, and maintain a Preventive Maintenance Programme.
* Conduct audits and inspections of maintenance quality and facility conditions.
* Ensure all assets are accurately logged in the CMMS with effective maintenance tasks.
* Collaborate with Production, Hygiene, and Planning to improve machine reliability.
* Analyse downtime and implement preventive actions to drive improvement.
* Maintain 5S standards in Engineering offices, workshops, and stores.
* Manage critical spares, stock levels, and ensure accurate stock takes.
* Train and develop the Engineering team and Machine Operators.

Person Specification:

* Time-served Engineer or minimum HND in a relevant Mechanical/Electrical discipline; preferably a degree.
* Minimum 5 years of industrial experience, with food manufacturing experience being an advantage.
* Knowledge of modern maintenance techniques, CMMS utilisation, and electrical/electronic controls.
* Strong problem-solving capabilities and familiarity with root cause analysis methods (5Y, FMEA, Fishbone).
* Effective communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.
* Proficient in computer software packages such as Word, Excel, and AutoCAD.

Additional Info:

* Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum based on experience.
* Holiday: 25 days plus bank holidays.
* Pension: Salary Exchange at statutory rates.
* Shifts: 8:30am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday, site-based role.
