Combined Mechanical & Electrical Inspector/Service Engineer
Location: Keighley
Hours: Days Regular
Salary: £36k - £40k+, & £1500 starting bonus!
Permanent Role.
Metalis are currently working with a prestigious engineering company, who manufacturing machine components, and are looking for a Mechanical Inspector to join their welcoming team.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Check that the machine is built to the customers specifications as detailed within the Factory Order.
- Carry out the tasks on the inspection check list, problem solving and making mechanical and program adjustments where required.
- Ensure that the machine is prepared for customer demonstration.
- Carry out machine demonstrations to the customer during machine acceptance.
- Work with the engineering & build team in the completion of any internal or customer non-conformances, to support a closed loop feedback and prevent reoccurrence.
- Oversees the machine shipment as it leaves our plant.
- Produce the shipment list.
- Complete the inspection documentation and final report.
- When required install, test and commission the machine on customers site dealing with non-conformances during the re-build and commissioning phase.
- Support the Service / Aftermarket departments on retools and refits where necessary.
- Undertake troubleshooting internally and on the customers site.
- Work to a high standard at all times ensuring adherence to current Health & Safety standards and promoting a professional and positive image of
- Understand own responsibilities in following Golden Rules of Health Safety and acts as. a positive role model for good health & safety practices.
- Understands and works at all times in line with Values and Directives.
- Work with and Promote the 5S initiative at all times.
- Supports and promotes the "Right first time" working practice.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by Line Manager or Directors.
Key Skills Requirements:
- A relevant technical or engineering qualification / Suitably qualified to NVQ Level 3, HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering or alternative required discipline.
in mechanical or electrical discipline - A knowledge of grinding processes is highly desirable.
- A knowledge of machine tools is essential.
- A willingness and ability to travel for the service/aftermarket departments when required.
- Ability to be flexible in working time; on occasion there will be a requirement to work different shifts and overtime.
- Good customer service skills with expertise in troubleshooting, diagnosing and solving complex machining / grinding related problems in Automotive Industries.
- Able to work effectively under pressure either alone or as part of a team.
- Able to communicate effectively both internally and externally.
- Presents a positive image that reflects well on the organization.
