Quality Engineer

Metalis are currently supporting our client based in Kidderminster with their search for a Quality Engineer. With a focus on quality and precision, our client takes pride in delivering exceptional products to their clients. As they expand their operations, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Engineer, ideally with a background in casting or foundry processes to join their team.

The successful Quality Engineer will play a key role in ensuring the quality and integrity of the casting and foundry processes. You will work closely with the production and engineering teams to implement and maintain quality standards, drive continuous improvement, and contribute to the overall success of our manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections and audits of casting and foundry processes to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Develop and implement quality control plans and procedures for casting operations.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify and address quality issues in a timely manner.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Monitor and analyse production data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide guidance and training to production personnel on quality standards and procedures.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure the quality of incoming materials used in the casting process.
  • Participate in the development of new casting processes, ensuring they meet quality requirements.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Quality Engineer, preferably with a focus on casting or foundry processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of casting and foundry operations, including familiarity with different materials and alloys.
  • Strong understanding of quality control principles and methodologies.
  • Experience with quality tools such as Six Sigma, FMEA, and statistical process control.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
