Job Role: Section Lead, Turning

Salary: £20 per hour - dependant on experience, this is negotiable

Job Duties:

  • Implementation and ongoing improvement of the Quality Management System to meet the needs of the business and ensure compliance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 across all business functions
  • Manage and conduct internal audits following company audit policies, processes, and schedules, maintaining all relevant documentation. Monitor NCRs, ensuring they are rectified quickly, and by the agreed dates.
  • Support external audits to ensure relevant ISO accreditations that are essential to the business.
  • Perform inspections within manufacturing to ensure all Route Cards are correct and signed.
  • Manage non-conformance (NCR) issues, both internal and external, collaborating with the relevant functions to undertake root cause analysis, implement corrective and preventative actions, and build a culture of continuous improvement. Maintain documentation as required.
  • From the calibration register, calibrate inspection equipment and manage items required for external calibration. Issue all new inspection equipment with a unique Jade identification number. Keep documentation relating to the calibration process up to date.
  • Support a best practice and continuous improvement culture across the company, identifying opportunities where they arise and taking ownership for driving initiatives forward.
  • Adhere to the company's quality and H&S management system and supporting processes (ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018). Wear and use appropriate PPE.
  • Keep all work areas clean, tidy and safe at all times.
  • Identification and delivery of training requirements.

Experience & Requirements:

  • 10 years' manufacturing experience in an engineering business.
  • 3 years' experience in a hands-on supervisory role.
  • Knowledge of modern machining techniques, programming, and the latest developments in tooling.
  • Forklift and first aid qualifications would be very useful
  • Must be able to within the UK and abroad
  • Extensive experience of sliding head machines is essential
  • Must be proficient in writing programmes using Fanuc Controls with NC assist, or ideally through Solid Cam
