Bench Joiner / Cabinet Maker
Salary £28,000 - £35,000 per annum (subject to experience)
Location - Rugby
Days Regular Shift Pattern
Flexible working Hours (as long as you complete 40 hours)
Metalis are currently seeking an experienced and skilled Wood Bench Joiner to join our wood manufacturing client's team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-end luxury wood furniture, utilizing a variety of joinery skills and production machinery such as saws, sanders, edge banding machines, etc.
The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail and take pride in producing high-quality wood furniture.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to produce wood furniture products
- Use a variety of hand and power tools to measure, cut, shape and join wood pieces
- Operate production machinery such as saws, sanders, edge banding machines, and other woodworking equipment
- Inspect wood pieces for defects and ensure that all woodwork meets quality standards
- Assemble wood pieces into finished products, including benches, chairs, tables, and other custom wood furniture
- Apply finishes to woodwork, including sanding, staining, and polishing
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including regularly cleaning tools and machinery, and following safety procedures
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a wood bench joiner or similar role
- Knowledge of woodworking tools, materials, and techniques
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Familiarity with production machinery and woodworking equipment, such as saws, sanders, and edge banding machines
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Good physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions
