Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced PLC Programmer to join their dynamic team in Leicester. The successful candidate will play a key role in the development, implementation, and maintenance of programmable logic controller (PLC) systems. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of a leading player in the material handling industry.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and program PLC systems to meet the requirements of manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to design, test, and troubleshoot PLC-controlled machinery and systems.
- Implement software changes and upgrades to optimize performance, efficiency, and reliability.
- Perform regular maintenance and diagnostics on PLC hardware and software to ensure smooth operation and minimize downtime.
- Provide technical support and training to operators and maintenance staff on PLC systems and related equipment.
- Stay informed about industry trends, advancements, and best practices in PLC programming and automation technology.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory standards in all PLC programming and system integration activities.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in PLC programming, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as ladder logic, structured text, or function block diagram.
- Familiarity with PLC hardware platforms from leading manufacturers (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex PLC-related issues.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Prior experience with material handling equipment or conveyor systems is a plus.
Working Hours: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm Monday - Friday
Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
