Job Role: Quality Assurance Engineer
Location: Sheffield
Shift: Mon - Thurs 0800 - 1700, Fri 0800 - 1230 (38.5 hours per week)
Salary: £30 - £35k DOE
Metalis is working in partnership with a well-established manufacturing company in Sheffield who due to continuous growth are looking to hire a skilled Quality Engineer
Job Duties:
- Support the maintenance and ongoing improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) through internal audit and quality process creation.
- Promote and support the drive of continuous improvement in all quality processes.
- Create and submit FAIRs as per AS9102.
- Support the creation and submission of PPAP/DVI - PFC, PFMEA, Control plans, MSA, FAIR, capabilities studies, etc.
- Become one of the customer direct contact to resolve quality issues.
- Work with the team towards timely closure of corrective actions for customer returns and internal non-conformances.
- Work with Engineers in developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- Review new standards and quality requirements as required to ensure compliance to customer and QMS requirements.
- Work with the purchasing department to ensure vendors have the processes and systems necessary to supply products that meet company quality requirements.
- Perform internal audits as per internal, customer and QMs criteria's.
Job Requirements:
- 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, or NVQ level 2 (as appropriate, or equivalent experience
- Good knowledge of quality tools and methodologies i.e. Ishikawa fishbone, 5 whys, SPC, gage RR, 8D
- Good working knowledge of ISO9001/AS9100 or equivalent accredited QMS
- Good knowledge of manufacturing and associated processes i.e. turning, milling, grinding, use of inspection equipment.
- Good knowledge for creating FAIR as per AS9102
- Demonstrate good understanding of engineering drawings and Geometrical Tolerancing.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
