Job Role: Lead Automation Engineer
Location: Hinckley
Salary: £40,000 - £60,000
Metalis is working with one of the countries leading Mechanical Automation Manufacturers in the UK. Specialising across Food & Drinks, Logistics & Water Treatment they are recruiting for a Lead Automation Specialist to head up challenging an technical briefs for a wide range of customers.
You will be the lead author of Software Controls for industrial automation systems. Overseeing cradle to grave projects and being a point of contact for customers. You will be have a background in automation engineering ideally with experience using Allen Bradley or Siemens controls.
There is NO sponsorship or relocation for this role.
Job Duties
- Programming of PLC's using Allen Bradley (Studio 5000) and Siemens (TIA Portal) platforms
- Testing and debugging automation system controls
- Analysing electrical drawings and schematics to ensure effective system integration
- Provide technical support and guidance to clients during installation, commissioning, and operational phases of projects
- Maintain knowledge of the latest industry trends and advancements in automation, PLCprogramming, HMI developments, and robotics
- Adopt safe systems of work (RAMS)
- Observe the requirements of any Permit to Work issued by site Duty Holders
- Complete assigned tasks to schedule and report any issues or variations
- Maintain positive relationships with client representatives and other third parties
Job Requirements & Experience
- You must be forward thinking and able to challenge ways of working appropriately.
- 5+ Years working within an Automation background
- Knowledge of Ladder Diagram, Structured Text & Function Block Diagram
- Must have certificates in PLCs Programming or SCADA Development.
- A formal qualification in Software Engineering or Time served experience will both be considered
