About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias to join our team on the night shift. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and reliability of our electrical systems and machinery during night-time operations. Your focus will be on reducing downtime, conducting fault-finding, and carrying out essential repairs and preventative maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Electrical Maintenance and Repairs: Carry out routine maintenance on electrical equipment, control systems, and machinery. Diagnose and rectify electrical faults promptly to minimise operational disruptions.
- Preventative Maintenance: Execute scheduled preventative maintenance tasks to ensure equipment efficiency and reliability. Identify and address potential issues before they escalate into major problems.
- Troubleshooting and Fault-Finding: Conduct thorough fault diagnosis on PLCs, motors, drives, and other electrical components.
- Use specialist diagnostic tools to test and repair equipment.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities are conducted in line with health and safety regulations. Maintain a safe and organised working environment at all times.
- Documentation and Reporting: Keep detailed records of maintenance tasks, equipment history, and repairs performed. Provide timely reports on recurring issues and recommend solutions for long-term improvements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education and Certification: NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification is desirable.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Familiarity with working night shifts or flexible hours is an advantage.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in fault-finding and repairs on PLCs, motors, drives, and control panels.
- Strong understanding of electrical drawings and schematics.
- Knowledge of automated machinery is a plus.
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Shift Pattern & Salary:
- Hours - 37.5 per week (double days rotational role)
AM:
6am - 2pm
PM:
2pm - 10pm
Basic Salary - £38,175.75 per annum
Shift Allowance - £1.83 per hour (£1,784.25 per annum)
Benefits:
- 26 days holiday + BH
