Metalis Engineering are currently working with an FMCG company in Coventry, specialising in food processing and manufacturing. The company is world leader, committed to maintaining high standards in quality, efficiency, and safety.
Job Role Summary:
As a Shift Engineer, you will ensure the prevention of equipment failure and maintain efficient production operations by working closely with the manufacturing team.
You will be responsible for performing scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) and addressing mechanical and electrical issues promptly.
Shifts: 4 on 4 off rotating pattern (2 days, 2 nights; 12-hour shifts, 7am to 7pm and 7pm to 7am).
Role Daily Requirements:
· Execute work assignments from the Lead Engineer to maximise shift efficiency.
· Support and collaborate with operators for equipment maintenance and hygiene.
· Complete all Work Orders and Preventative Maintenance (PM) tasks.
· Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues promptly.
· Order and manage spare parts, liaising with contractors as needed.
· Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety procedures and company policies.
Person Specification:
· Electrical and/or mechanical qualifications with a time-served apprenticeship.
· Minimum 2 years of experience in an automated production environment, preferably in the food processing industry.
· Good written and oral English communication skills.
· Basic knowledge of Food Hygiene and Health & Safety.
· Computer literacy in Word, Excel, and Windows-based packages.
· Desirable skills: PLC, pneumatics, hydraulics, temperature control, instrumentation, welding, FLT license.
Additional Info:
· Salary: £47,190 per annum.
· Holiday: 23 days inclusive of bank holidays.
· Pension: Salary Exchange at statutory rates.
· Shifts: 4 on 4 off rotating pattern (2 days, 2 nights; 12-hour shifts, 7am to 7pm and 7pm to 7am).
