Quality Inspector

Metalis is partnering with a leading aerospace company experiencing significant growth. They are seeking a dedicated Quality Inspector to join their dynamic team.



Overall Purpose:

The Quality Inspector performs essential inspection activities within the factory, ensuring compliance with method specifications and customer requirements.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct first-off inspections to verify parts meet the required standards before continuing with manufacturing.
  • Maintain OPC and sample inspections to ensure parts comply with method specifications.
  • Complete receipt inspections as needed, validating parts returning from subcontract locations.
  • Perform visual inspections and generate non-conformance paperwork when applicable.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including SOX, Code of Conduct, and Health and Safety.


Skills Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A strong understanding of various inspection techniques and proven engineering experience.
  • Experience inspecting to tight tolerances in a precision engineering environment.
  • Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing setting with demanding targets.
  • A solid grasp of engineering drawings and method specifications.
  • Basic computer literacy, including Excel proficiency.
  • Experience or the ability to use SAP (advantageous).
  • Proficiency with conventional inspection equipment and CMM machines.
  • The ability to work independently, as well as excellent interpersonal and team-working skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and pride in their work.
  • Flexibility to support the ongoing needs of the business.


Salary:

  • Basic hourly rate: £13.79
  • Shift premium for the 2-shift rotating pattern: 19%
  • Starting rate on the 2-shift pattern: £16.41
  • Opportunity for the rate to increase to £16.93 (inclusive of shift premium) following comprehensive training.


Hours:

This role requires working two shifts:

  • Morning Shift:
    • 05:45 - 13:45 Monday - Thursday
    • 05:45 - 10:45 Friday
  • Afternoon Shift:
    • 13:45 - 21:45 Monday - Thursday
    • 10:45 - 15:45 Friday

Note: Training hours are from 08:00 to 16:25 Monday - Thursday and 08:00 to 13:20 on Friday. The company can also accommodate a morning and night shift rotation if needed.
