We are seeking a talented and experienced Design Manager to join a specialist Tooling & Manufacturing business. The Design Manager will be responsible for overseeing the design and project management processes, ensuring quality and safety standards are met, and providing leadership and support to the design team. I am also looking to recruit for the same team Mechanical & Senior Mechanical Design Engineers
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the design team, providing guidance and support to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
- Oversee the development and implementation of design plans and project timelines
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met
- Ensure compliance with quality, health, and safety standards in all design activities
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of the design team, providing feedback and identifying areas for improvement
- Develop and implement design strategies to optimize efficiency and quality
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in design and project management
- Adhere to the company's quality and H&S management system and supporting processes (ISO9001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018).
- Ensure any NCRs identified are rectified quickly, and by the agreed dates.
- Ensure all designs are compliant with relevant safety standards and appropriate UK and EU regulations, including testing.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in design, engineering, or related field
- Proven experience in design management, project management, or a related field (10 Years)
- In-depth knowledge of design principles, project management methodologies, and quality and safety standards
- 5 Year Years AutoCAD and Solid Edge experience.
- Experience of managing design projects of varying complexity, size, and budgets.
- Experience of designing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and software (PLC) controlled machinery.
