Metalis is currently supporting a leading Oldham-based sheet metal and profiling company equipped with state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities.
With a focus on precision cutting, the company utilises Amada laser machines to cut tubes and sheet metal.
Due to a busy order book, they are currently seeking a skilled Laser Operator for a full-time permanent position.
Role Outlined:
Metalis is in search of a Laser Operator, in this role you will operate an Amada laser machine cutting tubes and sheet metal.
This role involves ensuring the efficient and accurate operation of the laser cutting equipment to meet project requirements.
Work Hours are permanent Days or Night Shift
Daily Duties:
- Operate laser machines to cut tubes and sheet metal with precision and attention to detail.
- Set up and calibrate laser cutting machines, ensuring optimal performance and accuracy.
- Conduct regular inspections of cut materials to ensure adherence to quality standards and project specifications.
- Safely handle and load/unload tubes and sheet metal onto/from the laser cutting machines.
- Perform routine maintenance on laser cutting equipment, addressing any issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with the production team to ensure seamless coordination and efficiency in the laser cutting process.
Person Specification:
- Previous experience as a Laser Operator, preferably with Amada laser machines.
- Proficient in the setup and operation of laser cutting equipment.
- Knowledge of tube and sheet metal cutting processes.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality cuts.
