Metalis is currently supporting a highly established castings company in the search to recruit an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer.

The position is working Permanent Weekend Nights (34 hours a week), offering a take home salary of just over £40,000 per annum.

Weekend Nights - Friday night 8pm - 6am / Saturday 6pm - 6am / Sunday 6pm - 6am

Role Overview:

As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the upkeep and maintenance of heavy foundry / die casting equipment.

Your primary responsibility will be to provide both reactive and proactive maintenance support to ensure maximum efficiency and minimal downtime.

This includes diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues, performing routine inspections, conducting preventive maintenance tasks, and collaborating with other members of the maintenance team to optimise machine performance.

Responsibilities:
* Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance tasks on a wide range of equipment
* Troubleshoot mechanical failures and perform timely repairs to minimize production downtime.
* Collaborate with the maintenance team to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives for equipment reliability and performance.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies during maintenance activities.
Requirements:
* Relevant mechanical engineering qualifications (e.g: L3 Apprenticeship, HND, HNC, or equivalent).
* Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer in a heavy industry or manufacturing environment
* Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and related mechanical systems.
* Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical faults.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure to resolve maintenance issues.
