We are currently recruiting for a Full-Time Metal Purchasing Coordinator who will be involved with Purchasing, Buying, quotations, and general customer liaison. This is an opportunity to join a financially stable family ran business, following the upcoming retirement of a key team member.

The Role:

You will be responsible for overseeing the procurement of high-grade stainless steel and maintaining optimal stock levels. Key duties include:

  • Monitoring & Maintaining Steel Stock Levels: Ensuring stock is available to meet customer requirements.
  • Supplier Liaison & Relationship Management: Building and maintaining relationships with key suppliers.
  • Purchasing to Specification: Sourcing high-grade stainless steel for both stock and bespoke customer orders.
  • Stock Deliveries: Coordinating deliveries and ensuring received materials meet specification requirements.
  • Customer Interaction: Handling customer enquiries, providing quotations, and following up on quotes through to order completion.
  • Collaboration with the Team: Working closely with colleagues to achieve company goals and meet customer expectations.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience: Previous experience in a steel stockholding, metal purchasing, or buying role is essential.
  • Industry Knowledge: Background in the steel industry or metallurgical experience would be highly advantageous.
  • Skills: Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build and maintain strong supplier and customer relationships.
  • Team-Oriented: A proactive, team-focused attitude to contribute to the company's success.
