Job Role: QHSE Manager
Location: Oldham
Shift: Days Only
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 Per Annum DOE
Metalis is working in partnership with a bespoke fabrication company who offer a wide range of fabrication services within the Oldham Area. Due to continuous growth, they are looking to hire a skilled QHSE Manager on a permanent contract.
This role will require a dedicated individual who is up for the challenge of overhauling the current QHSE management systems. You will need to be a strong leader, committed to positive cultural change with the full backing of management.
Job Duties:
- Review company QHSE procedures and guidelines and ensure that they are adhered to.
- Responsible for developing, updating and monitoring Company's QHSE processes and procedures to ensure the Company maintains its accreditations (ISO9001-2015 & ISO14001-2015)
- Develop and execute a robust ESG strategy aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements
- Drive ESG initiatives focused on reducing the company's environmental footprint, fostering social responsibility, and ensuring strong corporate governance
- Collaborate internally to embed ESG considerations into decision-making processes and business operations
- Engage with external stakeholders, including investors, customers, and industry partners, to communicate ESG efforts and represent the company in relevant industry forums
- Prepare accurate and informative ESG reports, disclosures, and communications
- Train staff and supervisors on accident and injury prevention, product and process safety, and good work practices
- Assess and prevent health and safety hazards and implement appropriate corrective actions
- Conduct internal and external audits on QHSE compliance and good practices
- Ensure that actions taken to improve QHSE compliance are followed
- Provide regular reports and updates to the company's management committee on the implementation and monitoring of QHSE procedures
- Actively participate in the continuous improvement of QHSE practices
- Enforce and apply current QHSE regulations, laws and standards
- Completing toolbox talks and training managers on giving toolbox talks
- Full autonomy to implement positive cultural changes
Job Requirements:
- NEBOSH Qualification
- Demonstrated experience in ESG management
- Bachelor's degree in Safety Management or Related Field
- First Aid Qualification (desirable)
- Tangible evidence of improving QHSE culture in a highly regulated industry such as manufacturing / heavy industry
- Excellent and topical knowledge of Quality Management Systems
- Strong leadership skills to constantly drive safety and quality improvements
- A "hands-on" implementer of processes and change
- Motivates team to work together in the most efficient manner
- Keeps track of lessons learned and shares those lessons with team members
- Mitigates team conflict and communication problems
- Excellent motivational and people skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Management skills
- Full current driving licence
- Ability to maintain Company integrity through confidentiality and discretion
- Ability to travel (without restriction) when required to meet clients.
Salary & Shift:
- Monday to Thursday 07.00am - 4.30pm, Friday 07.00 - 3.30pm
- £60,000 - £70,000 Per Annum
- 10% bonus on salary based on five to drive company bonus scheme
