Job Role: Technical Field Sales Representative

Location: Nottingham

Salary: £35,000 Plus Company Car



Metalis are supporting an international engineering business in the search for a Technical Field Sales Engineer. The purpose of the role will be to find new business opportunities across a range of markets and sectors.

You will be joining a high performing sales team providing technical knowledge focusing on a solutions-based sales approach. You will demonstrate clear communication and come from an engineering background.



Candidates must live within a commutable distance to Nottingham and not require any sponsorship/Visa support.



Job Duties

  • Identifying new business opportunities through a variety of outreach methods including phone, email, marketing tools, face to face meetings & Trade Shows.
  • Demonstrating the product and delivering of presentations to showcase the value in the product.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients to ensure long term repeat purchase.
  • Contributing to sales strategies, pricing decisions and contract negotiations based on technical considerations.
  • Managing the full sales strategy from initial screening through to aftercare once the product is installed and delivered.
  • Work with the design and manufacturing departments to ensure requirements are met and lead times are adhered to.
  • Create business tenders and manage the bidding process.
  • Ensuring all notation and documentation is completed on the CRM.
  • Deliver sales reports and progress updates to relevant senior leadership team.



Job Requirements

  • 5+ Years working within Engineering Sales.
  • Must hold a valid UK licence.
  • Able to read and create technical drawings.
  • Must have demonstrated success in sales within their relevant field including winning of new business.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Self-motivated and target-driven with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify customer needs and propose innovative solutions.
