Metalis are working alongside a fabrication business in Derby currently looking for a Structural MIG Welder to join the team on a temporary-to-permanent basis. The role centres on structural steelwork and heavy fabrication, working regular day shifts Monday to Friday.
The role
- MIG welding structural steelwork and fabricated components
- Working with mild steel, including heavier sections and plate
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Fabricating and assembling steel structures to specification
- Measuring, cutting, preparing and positioning materials
- Grinding, finishing and checking completed welds
- Maintaining high standards of quality and workplace safety
What you'll need
- Previous experience in structural MIG welding
- Confidence welding mild steel and thicker materials
- Ability to read and work from engineering drawings
- Experience in fabrication and fitting
- Confidence using a range of workshop tools and equipment
- Good attention to detail and a strong work ethic
