Job Role: CNC Technician - Days only

Metalis are working with a specialist metrology company looking to recruit a CNC technician working on a days regular shift pattern.
The Role:
- The CNC Technician will be required to set, adjust, and operate Fanuc controlled CNC machines to perform precision turning & milling operations on small batches ranging from 50-off to 1000-off parts.
- Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
- Read engineering drawings and understand the specifications and tolerancing.
- Study sample parts, drawings, and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of the operations needed to produce products.
The candidate:
- Formal mechanical and manufacturing engineering qualification (or equivalent) or time-served apprenticeship
- Previous experience working on Turn / Mill or Mill / Turn Multi-Axis Machines
- Experience in a similar high precision environment, with proven understanding of CNC machinist responsibilities.
- Experience machining ferrous and non-ferrous metals including steel, aluminium and brass.
- Previous experience of operating Nakamura, Citizen sliding head or DMG MORI mill / turn machines is preferred but not essential.
- Ability to read technical /engineering drawings with a good understanding of tolerancing/geometrical tolerancing.
- Excellent level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Methodical & logical approach to work.
- Team Player & able to work on own initiative
- Good time management and organisational skills;
- Good communication / interpersonal skills;
- Safety conscious with a good understand of H&S practices and requirements
