Welder/Fabricator
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 a year + Overtime, Allowances & Van
O.T.E. £57-60k plus daily allowances when away from home.
Metalis are seeking a skilled and experienced Coded Welder Fabricator to join our dynamic engineering client working in diverse sectors such as Oil and Gas, Nuclear, Marine and Steel. As a Coded Welder Fabricator, you will play a crucial role in the welding and fabrication of components for various applications. Your expertise in using a range of welding techniques, including T.I.G, M.I.G, and Flux core welding, will be instrumental in ensuring the high-quality fabrication of structures and equipment.
Job Duties:
- Perform welding and fabrication tasks in accordance with industry codes and standards, specifically in Oil and Gas, Nuclear, Marine, Steel, and Industrial sectors.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to accurately execute welding and fabrication processes.
- Utilize a variety of welding techniques, including T.I.G, M.I.G and Flux core welding, to achieve high-quality welds on different materials and thicknesses.
- Conduct weld inspections and non-destructive testing (NDT) to ensure weld integrity and compliance with industry specifications.
- Work with various materials, such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and exotic alloys, as required by the specific project.
- Operate and maintain welding equipment and tools, ensuring their safe and efficient use.
- Collaborate with the fabrication team to assemble and fit components accurately for welding.
- Participate in site visits and projects both within the UK and internationally, as required, to perform on-site welding and fabrication work.
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Coded Welder Fabricator, with a track record of working in Oil and Gas, Nuclear, Marine, Steel, and Industrial sectors.
- Demonstrated proficiency in T.I.G, M.I.G, and Flux core welding techniques on various materials.
- Familiarity with industry codes and standards, including ASME, AWS, or EN standards.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
- Skilled in conducting weld inspections and NDT to ensure the quality and integrity of welds.
- Competent in working with different materials and thicknesses.
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance with welding safety standards.
- Willingness to travel both within the UK and internationally for on-site welding and fabrication projects.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Possess relevant welding certifications (e.g., AWS, EN ISO, ASME, etc.).
Salary & Hours:
Job type - Permanent
Shift - 39 hours per week plus overtime, national and overseas travel.
