Compressor Field Service Engineer

Metalis are working wih an established company that provide quality compressed air products and services. As a result of their expanding business, they are seeking a full-time Compressor Field Service Engineer to join their team based at their Bedford site. They specialize in compressed air systems and provides expert maintenance and repair services to customers within a 50-mile radius of Bedford, with occasional workshop-based repairs.

Position Summary: The Compressor Service Engineer will report directly to the Service Manager and will be responsible for diagnosing, performing planned maintenance, and repairing compressor systems as required. Most assignments will be carried out independently, requiring the Engineer to work autonomously on-site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct diagnostics, planned maintenance, and repairs on compressor systems.
  • Work independently to resolve technical issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Develop strong customer relationships based on professionalism and technical expertise.
  • Provide timely and accurate service reports and documentation.
  • Collaborate with the service team and management to improve service delivery.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of field service experience, with at least 3 years in the compressed air industry.
  • Strong technical aptitude with analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Clean, full driving license with the ability to tow a trailer (preferred).

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Office 365, and other relevant software.
  • Willingness to adapt to new technologies and products.

Hours:

  • Normal working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (42.5 hours per week).
  • Flexibility required for occasional overtime and emergency call-outs.
