40 hours per week - core working hours Mon-Fri 0830 - 1700

You will be part of a 24 hour on-call rota with other technicians, typically you will be on call 1 week in 3



The Purpose of the Role
The Mobile Hose Technician will provide excellent customer service and professional on-site hose replacement service to customers working with a range of machinery across a number of industries. There is an expectation to maintain relationships with existing customers and to promote the business,new customers within the area and in so doing put your stamp on development in the branch's catchment area.

The Main Duties and Responsibilities of the Role

  • Providing first class on-site hose replacement service by quickly identifying problems with hoses and fittings and choosing and implementing a high quality, effective solution.
  • Interact with customers professionally at all times, including out of hours as part of the on-call rota
  • Developing the mobile business to exceed the targeted turnover and margin for the designated area
  • Maintaining all stock contained on the service vehicle
  • Working safely whilst on site
  • Adhering to all prevailing Health and Safety rules and regulations on site
  • Undertaking risk assessments using the supplied risk assessment form before commencing work
  • Working within set policies on Health & Safety and Lone Working
  • Using mandatory Personal Protective Equipment where applicable
  • Ensuring that the service vehicle is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and road worthiness
  • Be an ambassador for the brand at all times, including maintaining a high level of personal cleanliness, professionalism and respect

The Person

  • Previous experience as a hydraulic/mechanical engineer or plant, HGV or agricultural fitter
  • Qualifications in mechanical/hydraulic engineering or a time served apprenticeship advantageous but not essential as training will be provided
  • Able to identify, fit and assemble a range of hoses and fittings for plant and equipment used in a range of industries including agriculture, transport, distribution, construction and manufacturing
  • Excellent attention to detail and ideally familiar with quality management procedures and highest safety standards
  • Physically fit and able and willing to work in confined spaces and in conditions which by the nature of the work are often dirty and wet
  • Good manual dexterity and accuracy in the use of hand tools and machinery
  • Basic IT skills including use of MS Outlook
  • Good confidence and interpersonal skills to build relationships with existing customers
  • Flexible and reliable - able to work unsocial hours on call as part of a team on rota
  • Full UK driving licence (or equivalent) with no more than 6 points
  • Eligible to work in UK
