Job Role: Production Engineer / Estimator

Location: Sheffield

Shift: Days regular

Salary: £25k - £30k + dependant on experience



Metalis is currently working with a prestigious manufacturing company who are based in Sheffield, who are involved in the manufacturing of Stainless Steel Components. The company are looking to hire a Production Engineer / Estimator on a permanent contract.



Job Role:

  • Programmer - Interpret customer requirements from engineering drawings, sketches, and written/verbal descriptions.
  • Use Sigma nest to design, arrange, verify, and price laser cut parts for the sales team
  • Nesting Parts for laser cutting.
  • Create and edit Assemblies in SigmaNEST effectively.
  • Estimator / Sales Support - Understand customer needs from drawings, sketches, and descriptions.
  • Check customer credit limits and work with Accounts or directors if there is an issue.
  • Maintain and file all paperwork according to quality standards.
  • Stock Management - Use Sigma MRP to enter book material into the company's stock management system.
  • Add necessary details for material on the computer systems, like Size, Grade, Cast.
  • Accurately attach test certificates to the company's MRP/ERP computer system.
  • Assist the management team to deliver training to ensure smooth roll out of the Sigmatek MRP system.
  • Assist with the transport process to ensure on time in full deliveries.
  • Follow Quality procedures laid down in the Management Manual.


Job Requirements:

  • Experience in CAD / Lantec - highly desired and will be trained within companies in house software.
  • Communicate professionally and accurately with customers, Suppliers, and team members across all business functions.
  • Teamwork is crucial for the business to succeed.
  • Follow Health and Safety procedures and work in such a manner to maintain the safety of yourself and others laid down in the Management Manual


Shifts & Salary:

  • Days Regular
  • Monday - Friday - early finish Fridays
  • £30k or DOE
