Quality Engineer

A Sheffield-based engineering business is looking for a Quality Engineer to join its team on a permanent, full-time basis. Reporting to the Group Quality Manager, you will help maintain existing quality management system accreditations and support the achievement of future approvals, working across quality systems, auditing, non-conformance management and continuous improvement.

The role

• Maintain QMS approvals including ISO9001 & AS9100
• Assist with strategic projects across quality systems and procedures
• Conduct scheduled internal audits, producing detailed audit reports and raising NCR/CAPA actions as required
• Undertake external audits as required
• Maintain the Non-Conformance System, carrying out root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions using 8D, 5 Why or similar methodologies
• Maintain quality documentation, procedures and work instructions
• Gather and analyse quality data to support continuous improvement initiatives
• Provide quality support when onboarding new suppliers
• Manage and maintain the calibration system
• Manage and maintain the training system, including new starter inductions and internal training

What you'll need

• Knowledge of ISO9001 & AS9100 Management System Standards
• Previous experience in a Quality Engineer role or similar
• Experience of undertaking internal and external audits
• Experience of problem-solving techniques including 5 Why, Ishikawa and 8D
• Knowledge of NADCAP
• Experience working within a steel or engineering environment
• Internal Auditor qualification or equivalent
• Excellent spoken and written communication skills
• Ability to build relationships and liaise with people at all levels
• Flexible, multi-tasking approach with strong attention to detail
• Computer literate, with confidence using Word and Excel to produce procedures, reports and presentations
