Atlas Rail looks after specialist rail machinery such as wheel lathes, wheelset turntables and brake test machines, for the heavy haul, freight and passenger sectors.
The challenge
Atlas Rail needed technicians who could keep this equipment running at its own sites and at customers’ sites: finding faults fast, carrying out repairs and doing routine maintenance, to strict safety standards and with as little downtime as possible.
What we did
We supplied experienced maintenance contractors, confident with PLC and NC controls, who covered:
- maintenance of large, complex machine tools across several locations
- fault finding and breakdown repairs
- planned maintenance to keep equipment reliable
- full compliance with safety rules on every site
The outcome
Equipment at Atlas Rail’s sites and its customers’ kept running, with less downtime.
Planned maintenance cut the risk of breakdowns, and the work was done safely at every location.
