Centrax makes industrial gas turbine generator sets in the UK, and installs, commissions and maintains them for customers around the world.
The challenge
Centrax needed a project manager and commissioning engineer for UK and international projects: someone who knew gas turbines and their auxiliary systems, could handle customers, and was ready to travel.
Without that person, deadlines on important sites were at risk.
What we did
We worked with the Centrax project team to understand exactly what the role needed, then found a contractor with a strong record in gas turbine commissioning. They took on:
- commissioning from set-up and testing through to final sign-off
- site logistics, safety and day-to-day decisions across several locations
- detailed reports and risk assessments to Centrax standards
- communication between Centrax and its customers
- overseas travel whenever a project needed it
The outcome
The contractor settled in quickly and kept key projects moving.
Centrax could take on more work without stretching its own team, and kept its standards on every site.
