The client
GS-Hydro provides on-site piping for offshore, marine, paper and steel customers. It needed a permanent pipefitter-welder to keep up with growing demand.
The challenge
The role meant three-quarters of the time in the field, with frequent overnight stays and travel abroad.
It also needed experience of welded and non-welded systems in stainless and carbon steel, spool fabrication, pressure testing, mechanical forming and reading engineering drawings.
What we did
We found a pipefitter-welder with the right skills and the right attitude to travel, including:
- MIG, TIG and stick welding
- stainless steel, carbon steel and other materials
- mechanical forming and pressure testing
- experience of pipefitting and welding abroad
The outcome
GS-Hydro gained someone who could work wherever customers needed them, at home or abroad.
Projects were finished on time, to the company’s quality and safety standards.
