The client
Hydrainer Pumps specialises in submersible pump hire and works on major water and sewage projects across the UK.
The challenge
As long-serving fitters retired, Hydrainer needed field-based diesel fitters to replace them and to keep up with growing demand.
The roles called for UK-wide travel, experience with small plant and diesel equipment, ideally some hydraulics, NVQ Level 3, a CSCS card and a clean driving licence.
What we did
Over several years we have found apprentice-trained fitters who:
- repair, service and set up diesel-powered equipment on site
- know hydraulic systems, and want to build on them
- are happy to travel to sites all over the UK
The outcome
Hydrainer has replaced the experience it was losing and kept projects on track.
With fitters willing to travel, it has taken on more work across the UK.
