Mechanical Assembly Fitter
Up to £17.00 per hour

Metalis are currently supporting a well-established, family-run engineering business who design, fabricate, and assemble a wide range of custom-built recycling machinery.
Supplying to a broad portfolio of clients, the business has a strong order book and continued investment. They are looking to expand their workshop team with the addition of a Mechanical Assembly Fitter. This is a workshop only role, with no travel or working away.
Role Overview:
This is a hands-on position suited to someone with a strong mechanical background, ideally with experience in mechanical assembly, fabrication, or general engineering. You'll be working in a supportive, skilled team assembling bespoke machinery using a range of hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble components and structures to engineering drawings and specifications
- Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments accurately
- Ensure proper alignment, fit, and finish of all assembled parts
- Support fabrication and build processes as required
- Perform quality checks to ensure assemblies meet required standards
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, following all health & safety procedures
- Apprentice-trained or experienced in mechanical/fabrication assembly
- Confident in reading and interpreting technical drawings
- Skilled in using hand/power tools and various measuring equipment
- Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude
- Competitive hourly rate (up to £17 p/h depending on experience)
- Weekly pay
- 24 days holiday plus statutory bank holidays
- Temp - Permanent, full-time role with early finish on Fridays
